Humans of Mark Spain: Amy McBride

By Mark Spain

Humans of Mark Spain is proud to introduce Amy McBride! In July of 2016, Amy McBride began her career with Mark Spain Real Estate as one of our first Athens listing agents. The Athens office opened in October 2016 and she was one of the foundational team members to operate out of Athens.

Amy’s passion, drive, and positivity have led her to be Listing Agent of the Month now several months in a row and she hopes to continue down that path in the months to come. Amy serves as an Exclusive Listing Consultant in Athens and has loved seeing the team grow over the past few months. We are so thankful and proud to have such a positive and dedicated individual on our team!

Amy grew up in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida and has lived in the Athens area for 12 years now. She got into real estate 25 years ago and through the industry, met Mark Spain who became a friend of hers. Mark and Amy worked together on new construction as Mark would list all of the properties for Amy’s builders. We’re so glad to have Amy on the team and wanted to hear more!

Why Mark Spain Real Estate?

For many different reasons; the professionalism and integrity were so evident and watching them grow in the business really made me want to be associated with the best. Being surrounded by an elite group of professionals that work together to succeed is very important to me.

What is your favorite part about the people you work with?

We are a family and a positive team that really strives to be better each day. We all truly love helping and being there for our clients as well as each other. We are a team who wants to see other members of our team succeed, and I love that! We are a family that values working hard as well as a group who enjoys and ensures to make room for family time. Helping others and always being better than the day before is so important to me, and I feel like this team really helps me push for exactly that!

What do you value most in the leadership at MSRE?

One of the top values our leadership has at MSRE is cultivating an appreciative environment of positivity every day. Everyone listens to you and you truly feel heard. It’s so neat to hear the new agents come in with new ideas and the directors really want to implement them. It’s so special as there are not a lot of companies that do that.

What have you learned the most from working at MSRE?

I’ve learned you can achieve anything you set your mind to and to always look forward, never backwards. Every time I sit down and talk one on one with Mark even just for 15 minutes, I’m inspired to do better, work harder, and be the best I can be. Everyone goes through struggles in their lives and it is important to keep looking forward!

What do you look forward to most each day?

Waking up! I love my family; my husband and daughter are my best friends and every day I look forward to going home and being with them. We cook dinner every night and love having friends and family over. Family time is number one for me. I also feel so lucky to have found a profession where I truly love what I do.

Do you have a hidden talent or hobby?

Art is my love. Growing up I always wanted to be an art teacher, and I’ve always loved art. I went to college for architecture, but painting is my passion. It’s a good place for me to go and get away from the hustle and craziness as well as do something for myself. The beauty of art is there is no right or wrong. It’s very therapeutic to me and definitely something I will continue to pursue for many years to come.

Do you have a favorite memory with a particular client?

It’s more a particular time in my career than a specific story. The greatest satisfaction of my career was the time I worked with new construction communities. I got the opportunity to host events, bring everyone together as friends, and truly build a community. It was so special bringing back that feeling of knowing your neighbors and enjoying where you live. Buyers wanted to live where I sold because it was more than a house they were buying, it was a community.

What other ways are you involved in the local community?

Human trafficking awareness through the Covenant House, as well as volunteering with the Susan G. Komen Foundation and at 12 Stone Church, are all so important to me. My most important goal for this year is to open a community of tiny homes for homeless veterans and get them the support they need. It is my husband Chris’s and my dream to give back and help veterans. My husband is an Army Veteran and my son is on active duty so we have big hearts for the servicemen and servicewomen.

Tell us about the friendships you’ve made at MSRE.

Everyone wants to be your friend and the whole team is full of positive and caring people that all have the same drive for goals. The agents that work here are chosen to work here for a reason. We all have the same common denominators when you really start talking to everyone. You have so many amazing people to work with and it’s truly a privilege to work here. It’s amazing to me how much you can learn from other people. I feel so fortunate to work for people who really want to see me be successful.

Having Amy on the team is an absolute honor and we are so excited to see what’s in store for her and the Athens team this year!
