Tell us about you! Where were you born, where did you grow up? What do you enjoy in your free time?
I grew up in Elberton, GA! It’s a small country town that is somehow known as the “Granite Capital of The World”! I lived there until I was 16 and then my family moved out to Winder, GA for a promotion my dad received with Home Depot. Often I was homesick and missed my friends, so I drove back and forth weekly for the next 2 years living between my parents and grandparent’s homes while I finished high school.
Because of that, I got to walk and graduate in The Granite Bowl! After high school, I permanently moved out to the Winder area and since then have done a little moving around and have built a completely different life for myself! In my free time, I love to read, binge watch TV shows, play with my dogs, and work out!
When and how did you become a part of Mark Spain Real Estate?
I had been in management with cell phone companies for several years and was looking for a change of pace in 2017. I was practically family with an agent because her daughter and my brother have been together for 7 years. She recommended I apply for a position with the growing ISA department! Soon after, I was able to interview with my now director, Eric Lutz, and I haven’t looked back since!
How long have you been involved in real estate and where?
I was completely unfamiliar with real estate until I began working with Mark Spain Real Estate in June 2017 and have learned more than I ever could have imagined so far in my time here! Even after almost 3 years, I am constantly learning new things and being able to grow my knowledge for our clients, as well as myself.
Why Mark Spain Real Estate?
From the moment I walked through the office doors, I felt appreciated by my peers, directors, and all other staff members! I have felt so blessed to watch our entire team grow together and hit goals that we never would have thought possible! I feel proud to tell people who I work for. When I put clients at ease and let them know why we are the best, I truly mean it and believe in our mission and purpose!
What have you learned the most from working at MSRE?
Wow, where do I even begin?! I had zero real estate experience before coming to work at Mark Spain Real Estate. Now I understand the full process from scheduling a consultation, to listing and closing. Not only that, I understand how the team comes together to schedule photos, post the listings on MLS, begin showing potential buyers our listings, and get to the closing table in a way that is seamless to the client. We are the best of the best in real estate and I wouldn’t have gained this much life-long knowledge anywhere else!
What are your passions in life outside of work?
My biggest passion right now outside of work is school because I want to always be learning something new and growing for a big future! I am a huge planner and am very passionate about making the most of each day, while also making plans for where I see myself 1, 2, 5, and 10 years from now. I’m also very passionate about music, but am by no means a good singer, so I guess that makes me passionate about listening to music?!
What is a hidden talent that you have?
I am a clarinet aficionado! I started playing in 6th grade and continued symphonic band all through middle and high school, as well as marching band all through high school. 13 years later, I still love the feeling of memorizing sheet music and playing straight from the heart!
Who inspires you in life?
I am inspired by so many members of my family! My grandmother and mother have taught me to be a strong, independent woman that can accomplish anything I set my mind to, and to know what I want for my life and never settle for less! My dad has always been a big supporter in my life.
I can always rely on him for true advice and I look up to what a hard worker he is and has always been! My grandpa is no longer with us, but I live to make him proud each and every day. He accomplished so much through schooling and his military career, I’d be honored to be half the person he was.
I am also very inspired by several motivational speakers such as Darren Hardy and Robin Sharma. They are people that are constantly striving for their best life possible and want to capture every minute of this short ride we call life. Mark’s words of “hang around and listen to those that you want to be like” ring true for me each and every day!
Tell us about the friendships you’ve made at MSRE
If I wrote out all of my friendships that I’ve made here and just how much they all mean to me, it would take up 3 pages! I truly love and care for each member of my department and couldn’t ask for a better group to work with! I have made life-long friends in Lydia, Alex, Heidi, Darlene, and The Kate’s!
Gina has become not only a life-long friend but a second mother that I will always cherish! We really are a family, and that includes even those who have grown and moved to other departments within the MSRE organization or other companies altogether. I’ve grown more here as an individual and in a group than I have or could have at any other job – for that I will always be grateful!
What are you looking forward to this year?
I am most looking forward to the increase in overall company numbers and the continuous growth of our department! I am already so proud of this team that Eric and Morgan have worked to build and all of us coming together to make system and script changes that make everyone’s jobs easier!
Not only do we want to have the best client experience, but we want to have the best inside sales experience and we are crushing it! I know we will always strive to do even better than the day, week, month, or year before. I can’t wait to see how all of our hard work will pay off for the beginning of this new decade!
