Mark Spain Real Estate Sponsors Nashville Rescue Mission 2020 Radiothon
One of our core values at Mark Spain Real Estate is to lead with a servant’s heart. Last month, we were honored to participate as the primary sponsor in the Nashville Rescue Mission Radiothon. The radiothon aired Monday, November 23rd on 99.7 Super Talk WTN. We were honored to have this opportunity to help give back to our Nashville community!
What is the Nashville Rescue Mission?
The Nashville Rescue Mission is a faith-based organization making a profound difference to the area’s homeless men, women and children in all areas of their lives—physical and emotional needs, spiritual growth, education, employment and life recovery. In 2019, alone, the Nashville Rescue Mission served 569,501 meals and provided 268,050 nights of shelter.
Founded in 1954, the Nashville Rescue Mission has evolved and grown through the decades to better serve the needs of the greater Nashville community. It began by helping men of the community and, in 1968, opened a separate facility to assist women and children. The Nashville Rescue Mission would eventually move its facilities into the downtown area to better serve the homeless population. Its services have expanded to include emergency resources, transitional housing, job training programs, counseling, life skills, and Bible classes, as well as help with addiction and other life-debilitating issues.
The Nashville Rescue Mission estimates providing a single meal costs $2.26. For less than a $10 donation, a family of four can have a hot meal. The goal was to raise enough funding during the 14-hour Radiothon to serve over 44,000 meals. It partnered with SuperTalk 99.7 WTN to host the 14-hour, on-air fundraising event.
Mark Spain Real Estate, located in Franklin and serving greater Nashville, was again the primary sponsor of Nashville Rescue Mission’s Hunger to Hope Radiothon. The Radiothon event took place Monday, November 23, from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. CST on SuperTalk 99.7 WTN. The Nashville radio station broadcasted live from the Nashville Rescue Mission, located in the old Sears building on Lafayette Street and 7th. Our Nashville Director of Sales, Brett Huelsman, made an appearance at the Nashville Rescue Mission.
“With so many families hurting during this pandemic, there has never been a more important time to give back to the communities we serve,” said Chairman and CEO Mark Spain. “One of our core values at Mark Spain Real Estate is to lead with a servant’s heart, and the Nashville Rescue Mission provides so many excellent services and necessities to Nashville residents in need, which aligns with our values.”
