Alpharetta’s Best Open Spaces To Visit This Spring
Big Creek Greenway
This concrete trail is about nine miles with a half-mile wood chip path and a combination mountain bike and hiking trail. It runs from Windward Parkway to Mansell Road with multiple points of entry. Due to this trail being mostly paved, it is a great place for anyone of any fitness level to come and get their steps in. It is also kid friendly, so bring the whole family!
This space provides scenic views through a flood plain formed by Big Creek. Wildlife loves the Big Creek Greenway, including deer, wild turkey, and songbirds.
Brooke Street Park & Arboretum
Brooke Street Park is admired for being a beautiful 5-acre passive park in Downtown Alpharetta behind Alpharetta City Hall as it is positioned along Haynes Bridge Road. At this park, you can expect an arboretum with specimen trees, a winding concrete path, an open lawn that features local concerts, cornhole boards, art sculptures, and a reflection garden.
This park is perfect for a relaxing stroll with the family or for a quiet place to work. It is open from dawn to dusk, and we think it is an open space that locals must visit in the spring.
The AlphaLoop
Our favorite open space is the AlphaLoop, which is an ongoing project since 2016 for the city! It will eventually connect neighborhoods to nearby activity centers, improve mobility, encourage healthy lifestyles, and overall increase the satisfaction levels of everyone who enjoys spending time in this city. Amenities that plan to be connected are the Big Creek Greenway, Downtown Alpharetta, Avalon, and the North Point District.
The AlphaLoop is going to be one of the greatest attractions in Alpharetta, so it will take many years to live up to its expectations. However, much headway has already been made, including the first segment connecting Downtown Alpharetta and the Avalon.
This open space will absolutely need to be a priority to visit when more progress is made!
North Park
Lastly, for our clients with kiddos, we recommend taking them to get their energy out at North Park. It is a 97-acre park with five tennis courts, six pickleball courts, two synthetic turf fields, eight softball fields, two playgrounds, an Adult Activity Center, a lake, a walking trail, and so much more. Not to mention, there are two perfectly placed pavilions for gatherings or celebrations to be held under.
This park is known for being safe, clean, and well-maintained so anyone in the community can fully enjoy what it has to offer.
