In Good Company: The People of MSRE Bobby Hughes

Bobby Hughes serves as an Exclusive Listing Agent in our Alpharetta office! Born in a small town in Eastern Kentucky, Bobby spent the majority of his childhood outdoors and to this day still enjoys staying active. He is knowledgable, patient, professional and responsive around the clock. It is a pleasure to have Bobby Hughes on our team and we are so proud to highlight him as our next person of MSRE!

Tell us about you, Bobby Hughes! Where where you born? What do you enjoy in your free time?

I was born and raised in a small town in Eastern Kentucky. I lived in a “holler” as folks from the area call it, and wouldn’t have changed anything about it. The majority of my time as a kid was spent playing outside, which is where my love for the outdoors and playing sports comes from. I was also very active growing up. I played baseball, basketball and football all throughout high school. In my free time now, my number 1 hobby is playing golf. I also enjoy running, hiking and traveling. My wife and I got married in Colorado, so we love to travel out there to hike in the summers. 

When and how did you become a part of MSRE?

I joined the team late Summer of 2016. At the time, I was working for Enterprise Rent-a-Car. Through some common friends of Mark and myself, my name came up as a potential fit to join the team. I received a call from the sales leader at that time, came in for an interview and the rest is history.

Why Mark Spain Real Estate?

It seemed like a great opportunity to start a career with more flexibility/freedom, while joining a company focused on growth and developing talent. The fact that the leads would be provided to someone new in the industry, as well as someone not from GA, was also appealing. It didn’t take long to feel the culture and realize it was a great fit. 

What is your favorite part about the people you work with?

I’ve developed some great relationships over the last couple years with those in the office as well as my clients. I enjoy the competitive yet supporting environment. Everyone seems to be on the same page when it comes to the expectations to promote a fun supportive culture, and the buy-in is great. I can’t say enough about my team in Alpharetta, and especially our director Sara Archambeau, she gets the best of everyone no doubt! 

What have you learned the most from working at MSRE?

There’s no doubting that through all of the transactions, I’ve learned a ton about residential real estate. I’ve learned to expect the unexpected. I have a better mindset and approach to each day, and I think a lot of that comes from surrounding myself with like-minded people. Tough situations will come in this business, but being able to stay calm and solution-minded goes along way for your clients, as well as yourself. 

Tell us about the friendships you’ve made at MSRE.

I’ve made so many great friendships and relationships at MSRE. Through our hiring process, I feel that we are able to find like-minded and similar people, which makes for a cohesive office culture.

 

What is a hidden talent that you have?

I would say my “talents” are more sports oriented…. I’m good at throwing things. However,  I wish I was more musically-inclined.

Who inspires you in life?

I’m inspired by a lot of different things. I have a drive to be successful but that’s pretty broad. I know what type of life I want to provide for myself and my family, so I think I find inspiration in hopefully one day getting there. 

 

What are you looking forward to this year?

I look forward to making each year better year than my last. I hope to take on a few more responsibilities both with my business and with MSRE. As things are always changing, I think it is important to always be ready to take advantage of opportunity.
