Tell us about you, Mikayla Black! Where were you born, where did you grow up, what do you enjoy in your free time?
I was born in a small rural town in Ohio and lived there until 2010 when I moved to Georgia. In my free time I enjoy meeting up with friends to hang out or spending time with my dog, Oakley!
How did you become a part of Mark Spain Real Estate?
I was working in a preschool and looking to change things up. Then I met Brittany, one of our client concierges, and I happened to mention that I was looking for a new job. She told me that there was an opening for the Director of First Impressions, so I sent her my resume the next day. The rest is history, I then joined MSRE in March of 2019!

Mark Spain Real Estate has a such great culture and is an incredibly fun place to work! Aside from that, it is so fulfilling to be involved in a company that is growing so quickly. To be able to see it all happen firsthand is amazing!
What is your favorite part about the people you work with?
The people at Mark Spain Real Estate are all really kind and welcoming. When I first started working here I was surprised at how quickly I was accepted as part of the “family”!
What have you learned the most from working at Mark Spain Real Estate?
I have learned a lot about real estate and how much goes on behind the scenes that people don’t think about. There are so many working parts that have to come together in order for things to run smoothly.
What are your passions in life outside of work?
I am really passionate about people in general. I think it is so important to make everybody feel like they are accepted and have a place in this world. Taking the time to listen to other people’s stories and life experiences not only makes them feel heard but can also change your own perspective on things in life.
What is a hidden talent that you have?
I really love interior decorating. I am constantly changing things around my apartment or searching for new pieces that I can add. Being able to take a boring or plain space and make it into something that you can feel good about coming home to at the end of the day is something I greatly enjoy!
Who inspires you in life?
My mom is my biggest inspiration in life. She has a successful career, raised four kids, and is always willing to go out of her way to help us when we need it. She rarely complains even though I know she works tirelessly to make everybody happy.
Tell us about the friendships you’ve made at MSRE
I love all of the people at MSRE and would consider everybody to be a friend. I have gotten especially close to the admin team and can always count on having somebody to talk to if I need somebody to go to for help or advice. Not only that, I really appreciate the friendships that I have with the other ladies in accounting and know that they will always be there when I need help or have questions.
What are you looking forward to this year?
I am looking forward to finding out where this year takes me and to continue to grow and learn. I am also looking forward to making more memories with my friends and family!
