Teresa Renfroe serves as an Exclusive Listing Agent on our Stockbridge team. After a long career in retail, she moved into real estate. Having just completed her first 2 months with Mark Spain Real Estate, she has displayed an intense passion for learning and a vigor to do her best! We are so thrilled to highlight Teresa Renfroe and her incredible drive, talents and successes!

Tell us about you, Teresa Renfroe! Where you were born, where did you grow up? What do you enjoy in your free time?

I was born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama. After 45 years there, I moved to Georgia in 2016 due to a job transfer with LifeWay Christian Stores. I have a 7 year old son; so in my free time I learn about Roblox and go to Karate practice! Seriously, I enjoy seeing life from his perspective. I love to travel, cook and spend quiet time at home with my family.

When and how did you become a part of MSRE?

When I moved to Georgia, I only anticipated being here 3-5 years. I noticed the billboards for the Guaranteed Offer and made a mental note to call when my job took me to the next location. As it turned out, in 2019 the decision was made to shut down the entire retail division.

After 19 years in retail, I started considering a new career path. Several of my friends have had success in real estate in Alabama, so I decided to sign up for the online classes. When I started investigating brokerages, Mark Spain Real Estate immediately came to mind. The booked appointments definitely peaked my interest; but after interviewing with Sherron and learning about our mission, along with professional and personal development, I was sold.

Why Mark Spain Real Estate? 

Appointments and processes. Being new to the industry, new to the area and late to the game career wise, I needed a brokerage that was going to give me the most experience in the shortest amount of time. I have several friends in real estate and interviewed with other brokerages, but MSRE gave me opportunities.

That is what I needed to get the experience I desired to have. I come from a retail background where client experience was top priority, so the systems and support team that are offered here made me feel confident that even being a newbie,  I could provide the high level of service to my clients I was accustomed to.

What is your favorite part about the people you work with?

The vast differences in personality! Everyone on our team is so different, yet each brings so much to the table in experience, knowledge and wit. My favorite part is that everyone is willing to share what they know and they want you to be successful.  

What have you learned the most from working at Mark Spain Real Estate?

I would have to say our podcast has helped tremendously. Again, being new to the industry, I feel like the information is so valuable! It has been inspiring to hear other agent’s stories. The explanations provided in all of them are so incredibly useful. I have listened to some several times because they are so applicable. They are a tremendous benefit that is helping me to grow my professional knowledge and ultimately my business. 

Since I was put in rotation in in August, I have been in over 25 homes and I have been exposed to more clients,  situations and solutions then I would have experienced in two years with a traditional brokerage! My goal for the end of September was to have $2 million in inventory sold, something I never would have thought possible before my career here!

What is a hidden talent that you have?

Let’s see, they are pretty random: I can carve an apple into a bird and a carrot into a tulip. I can name the 50 states in alphabetical order. Additionally, I can make a pool ball appear to defy gravity, which is really only useful if your trying to hustle a game of pool… l love to play guitar, but I cannot say it’s a talent just yet….

Who inspires you in life?

I have a few for a few different reasons. Beth Moore, I adore her love of people and her love for teaching people truth through scriptures. Dale Carnegie for his timeless philosophy on how to treat people in business and life. Lee Cockerell, for his leadership and team-building abilities. Nick Vujicic because he is living proof it’s not circumstances, but mindset.

Tell us about the friendships you’ve made at MSRE, Teresa Renfroe.

It’s only been about 2 months so these are still developing, but all I have to do is reach out to team members and they are always there to share time and answers!

What are you looking forward to this year?

Bringing my life and routine back into balance after years of letting it get away from me. I am looking forward to meeting and exceeding my personal and professional goals. I’m looking forward to growing my business and helping others do the same. Not only that, I am looking forward to the trips I have planned with my family!
