June Market Update: Atlanta

By Mark Spain Real Estate

Mark Spain real Estate has summarized the key trends of Atlanta’s June real estate market for you. As the month of June comes to a close, we’ve seen Summer officially kick into gear! With warm weather in full swing, the Summer real estate market is already upon us. As we head into July, let’s recap the month of June! Knowing these facts and trends can ensure you can make well-informed decisions and stay in the know!

Mark Spain real Estate has summarized the key trends of Atlanta's market update

The Hard Facts- Atlanta Market Update

  • The current median sold price of a home is up 5.5% from this time last year, going from $225k to $269k
  • Atlanta’s inventory has continued to rise, with the supply of available homes increased by 11.9%
  • A home’s average day on the market is slightly down by 5% from last month in May, currently residing at 42 days on the market

What Does This Mean For You?

We’re living in what experts are calling the “Bargain Belt” – the Southeast is showing some dynamic growth, but the cost of living is still relatively low.  Industries continue to relocate to Atlanta which brings a natural influx of homebuyers, and this trend shows no sign of slowing down anytime soon. Buyers, while interest rates are still low, don’t miss out on this time to purchase your next dream home!

We’re also seeing signs of a natural summer market.  Kids are out of school, which explains the increase of available homes. Buyers, an increase in inventory means more options in your search for the perfect home, so start searching today! And while the average days on market is a little higher than last year, sellers don’t let this worry you! People are always still looking to purchase a home. Timing is everything, so start the listing process before the Summer season and bustling market come to a close!

Our Advice:

No matter what chapter of life you’re in, if you are looking to sell or buy a home, make sure you are represented by a professional, full-time agent with years of experience under their belt.
