Mark Spain Real Estate is honored to be able to join the board of the Forsyth County Family YMCA! We would not be where we are today without these communities. The YMCA holds a special place in our hearts, we are grateful to be on the board to actively serve and be more involved! 

Mark Spain to Serve on the Board of Forsyth County Family YMCA

Mark Spain was recently asked to join the board and executive committee of the Forsyth County Family YMCA. He has been a charter member since the YMCA opened its doors in the early 2000s. In 2014, Spain became more actively involved in the fundraising efforts of the local non-profit. Moreover, the progression to becoming a board member comes after his impactful participation on all levels of the organization.

The Mark Spain Foundation

The Mark Spain Foundation was formed in 2016. This foundation is an effort to make strategic charitable investments in the local communities in which we work. Furthermore, we partner with organizations such as the YMCA that align with our vision and conduct service projects that benefit families, veterans, and our local communities.

YMCA Spin-A-Thon

The first annual YMCA Spin-A-Thon chaired by Spain raised more than $20,000. This year that number grew to $36,000. In addition to lending his expertise to these philanthropic events, Spain works at the branch with the staff. He provides his insights on leadership, business, and customer service.

“We are caught up in our own bubble and don’t realize all those in need right in our own backyards. I had been looking for a charitable organization for a while where I could really leverage my leadership and other available resources. I wanted it to be the right organization, which meant it has to be one I feel passionate about and, at the same time, it has to be a match to my family’s value system.” – Mark Spain

The Forsyth County Family YMCA has a wide outreach to its members and community, who profit from initiatives such as the Hunger Relief program, Camp Eagle Point, and after-school sports programs. Our team is elated to be part of the community spirit that stems from the YMCA.
