Mark Spain, Founder and CEO of Mark Spain Real Estate, shared positive words of wisdom live on WSB radio. The April 7, 2020 special focused on Where Your Money Stands during the current health crisis with Scott Slade, Clark Howard & Wess Moss.
During the live segment on WSB Radio, Scott Slade and Wess Moss discussed the economy and business during COVID-19. With this being Mark’s fourth business experience during an economic downturn, Mark shared a valuable outlook.
Having built Mark Spain Real Estate by focussing on people over transactions, Mark shared when asked how business is going that the most important thing for us is to keep our people and clients safe. The main goal for all businesses, however, is to remain in business. Mark said, “I have never seen our team step up in the way we have. We had to adapt our business model. Life is still going on despite this crisis.”
Mark Spain Real Estate adapted our business model by using virtual showings, virtual appointments, Zoom meetings, and Google hangouts to continue serving clients. When we do show houses, the potential buyer has to be pre-approved. The Company has also updated showing practices to protect both the sellers and buyers. This includes, for example, the agent being the only person to have contact with light switches or doorknobs.
According to Mark, our business and our team are as strong as they have ever been. Mark emphasized on WSB Radio that we will make it through this crisis together with the help and support of our employees and partners.
Mark believes the economic recovery from COVID-19 is going to be a lot faster than the market crash in 2008. He shared that keeping people employed and allowing them to continue putting money into our economy is key to a quick recovery. “My heart is with these small businesses, and I hope the government can put money into these people’s hands fast,” Mark shared. Mark feels very confident the economy will be back up and running by mid to late summer.
Mark’s message to the world is that life is still happening. One thing we are seeing in real estate is that people are still selling and buying despite the coronavirus. Typically, it takes 8-10 showings to receive an offer on a home. However, we are seeing only 2-3 showings occurring before receiving an offer. Mark told WSB listeners, “Life will go on and our buyers and sellers need us now more than ever as their experts in real estate.”
