Mark Spain Real Estate just completed a company-wide service day affectionately termed, BIG Y Day. The project consists of a massive clean-up before the YMCA’s upcoming summer camp at Eagle Point at Lake Lanier.
The team at MSRE stops work for one day to help with this effort in service to the community and for the kids. Big Y Day benefits YMCA, those attending the camp, and the surrounding community. However, since this serves as a team-building opportunity for the staff, Big Y Day also benefits clients of Mark Spain Real Estate directly.
Mark Spain, Chairman, and CEO of Mark Spain Real Estate serves on the executive committee and board of directors for the Forsyth County Family YMCA. He sees this opportunity as a way to mobilize volunteer resources to support the YMCA and invest in the local community. Eagle Point will host 100+ children over the summer for a number of different opportunities ranging from half-day specialty camps (such as gymnastics, swimming, art, music, and LEGO engineering), to full-day adventure camps.
The YMCA offers discounted rates for members and financial assistance, so everyone has a chance to spend their summer in a fun and proactive way. One additional highlight is a teen camp geared at teaching young men and women work ethics, leadership, and responsibility. It is the Y’s mission to strive for social responsibility and to invest in our kids, our health, and our neighbors; and those are just what the team at Mark Spain Real Estate is eager to invest in.

We participate in their annual Spin-a-Thon which allows us to raise money to send underprivileged kids to the camp, so it is always fun to come full circle and help the Y get the camp ready. For us, we feel it is imperative to give back to the community that has given us so much. We love Atlanta and many of our agents and staff call Forsyth county home. Knowing there are so many kids in need, we felt we had to do something. We firmly believe in the lessons taught to the kids at camp and are proud to support the YMCA.”
