In May, Mark Spain Real Estate took a day outside the office for their annual company-wide community service event. We have proudly named our community service event, Big Y Day. This is the team’s 4th annual Big Y Day. It has grown to be a highly anticipated event at Mark Spain Real Estate.
During this service day, we clean up the YMCA campsite at Lake Lanier in preparation for the 1,600 kids expected to attend camp at Eagle Point this summer. The day consisted of clearing walking trails and cleaning the beach. In addition to cleaning, we set up activities for the kids, and helped counselors prepare for the week!
“I used to go to day camp at the YMCA every year, and it was always the highlight of my summer. I was so happy to clean up Eagle Point with the team for the incoming campers. Summer camp is such a special memory for kids. I am so glad we got to be a part of this process,” says Lindsey Haste, Client Concierge at MSRE.
Mark Spain, Chairman and CEO of Mark Spain Real Estate serves on the executive committee and board of directors for the Forsyth County Family YMCA. Heavy involvement in the YMCA from both his family and the MSRE team make events like this so special to us. The team has participated in 3 other Big Y Days at Eagle Point. In addition to Big Y day, the team helps with other events benefitting the YMCA such as the YMCA Spin-A-Thon.
Team members from all offices of MSRE across Atlanta and Athens traveled up to Lake Lanier for Big Y Day. The YMCA plans to host a wide array of different camps this summer ranging from half-day specialty camps including sports, art, music and engineering, to full day adventure camps.

Big Y Day acts as a day for us to come together and build our relationships outside of work. We are so excited for the kids to enjoy camp this Summer!
