Our core values at Mark Spain Real Estate are to have an attitude of excellence, to remain customer-focused, to constantly grow and improve, to lead with a servant’s heart, and to promote a supportive and fun culture. We are able to do this by achieving a work-life balance.
Here are 3 Mark Spain Real Estate tips to help you achieve a work-life balance!
Make Time a Priority
Make a list of your priorities each day so you know what demands your time and attention. Don’t just write down your duties; set aside time to do them and plan it like a meeting. Putting appointments, and events on your calendar prevents you from putting things off until later in the day when you should be relaxing. It also prevents you from forgetting them entirely. It’s very easy to get swept up in the hustle of the real estate industry if something isn’t on your schedule.
Schedule your activities between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., when your clients are at work and unable to speak with you. Writing real estate listing descriptions, keeping an online presence, and conducting comparative market analysis are all examples of this. You’ll also need to schedule family time and your own time, and stick to those obligations, which may seem unnecessary. But, in order to keep a work-life balance, you must treat it as if it were a meeting with a client. This strategy pushes you to have a work-life balance and to take some time for yourself. It also helps you get through difficult situations.
Set Limits And Make Them Known
It’s tempting to spend your days and nights on the phone with clients, with no days off in between, but this might lead to burnout.
It’s critical for a work-life balance to establish and enforce boundaries. That could mean not working at all one day a week or not answering your phone after a certain time. Setting boundaries with your clients who are buying or selling a home can be difficult. They’re in the midst of a significant financial decision and a possible life change, and it’s an emotional moment for them.
It’s critical to share your boundaries with your clients at the start of your working relationship. At Mark Spain Real Estate we value relationships over transactions and keeping healthy boundaries is key for a prosperous relationship. Your clients should know your working hours, any upcoming vacation days, the best way to contact you, and how soon you’ll answer from the beginning.
Take it easy on yourself.
There will be times when your work-life balance is out of balance, no matter how hard you try. That’s OK. It is important to accept that you will work more than you desire on some days. Knowing that it will happen now and then will relieve the stress and guilt that will definitely follow.
Expect it will take some time to find a healthy work-life balance, so don’t expect it to happen overnight. Expect some trial and error as you go through the process. It will all be worth it once you discover out what works for you and your life.
Keep in mind that you can try again the next day or week. Most crucial, strike a balance that allows you to look after your physical and mental health. Remember that your health has a direct impact on the main goal: serve our clients in reaching their real estate goals.
