It’s found among many older homes and the area around the school is quite historic.
During 2001, the school was renovated to add more classrooms and a new cafeteria. They also added to the auditorium at this time. The school also has a music room, computer lab, art room and a large gym.
Garden Hills Elementary was the first school in Georgia to obtain the certification of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme. It has one of the lowest student-to-teacher ratios in the area and provides Spanish to grades one through five.
Academics
The curriculum meets the common core performance standards of the state and provides plenty of additional programs. There is a gifted and talented student program, which allows students to utilize their skills to evaluate information and learn to better solve problems. They also learn how to work together in a group and how to achieve more through their efforts.
Students enjoy weekly classes in music and art, along with physical education twice per week. They are also given outdoor recess and provides with plenty of technology throughout the classrooms including iPads, interactive white boards and computers.

Garden Hills is found in the Atlanta area and provides an education for nearly 700 students. It’s a part of the Atlanta Public Schools System and has been given a five-star rating by the community. This school is a good choice if you live within the zoned area.
