Academics
This school provides a core curriculum in line with the state of Georgia. Classes are found in many specific areas including Language Arts, Math, Reading, Science, Physical Education, Social Studies, Heath and more.
Northwestern Middle School provides classes in World Language, as well. This school also has a Talented and Gifted program, along with Special Education to ensure all students get the tools they need to achieve success.
Test Scores
Over the past three years, Northwestern Middle School has outperformed the average test scores for both Fulton County and the State of Georgia. They have achieved a score of 98 for three years in a row, which is 9 points higher than the Fulton County average and 16 points higher than the State of Georgia average for most years.
On the ITBS test from 2012, Northwestern outperformed both Fulton County and the National average. The average was more than 20 points higher for reading and math. It was also more than 15 points higher for Language, Social Studies and Science compared to the Fulton County Average.
