Every year, Mark Spain Real Estate is blessed to be able to grant a Fish Wish to one of the listeners of 104.7 the Fish in Atlanta. The holidays are a very special time of year. For the Mark Spain Foundation, it’s a time where we are able to give back and serve our community. This year, we surprised Amy and her kids with a Christmas to remember.
We were fortunate enough to be introduced to Amy and her children, with the help of our partners at The Fish. After a career in finance, Amy found herself switching gears due to health issues and several surgeries. Currently, she works for a small non-profit in her free time and crafts home decorations she sells online.
Over the summer, a problem with her air conditioning unit in her rental home left her with thousands of dollars in solely electric bills. Despite a hospitalization earlier this year and her surgeries, Amy continued to work hard to provide for her family.
Amy has two beautiful children, Angelina who is 12 and Liam who is 3 months. Angelina is homeschooled full time by Amy and wants to be a makeup artist when she grows up. Liam is Amy’s grandson, but she has been raising him as her own since his birth.
Her story inspired us. After learning of her struggles, the Mark Spain Foundation was determined to provide her with an unforgettable Christmas.
On November 25th, our Founder and CEO, Mark Spain, made the call to Amy to surprise her with her Fish Wish.
“I’m the dad of 5 precious kids so your story touched my heart. Your faith has held strong through everything you’ve endured and you are an inspiration to us all. From all of our family at Mark Spain Real Estate, we wanted the opportunity to do something special for you and your family to make this a Christmas to remember.”
Later this month, we will be welcoming Amy and her two wonderful children to our office to celebrate their early Christmas! We are so excited so provide gifts for her and her children.
One of our core values at Mark Spain Real Estate is to Lead with a Servant’s Heart. As stated by Mark, “God gives us talents I believe we need to pay forward. The silver lining in giving is what it does to the giver! It feels great to be a giver and see the difference we are able to make in our communities.”
Whether through service projects or granting a Fish Wish, the Mark Spain Foundation is firm in our desire to give back to our community.
