India’s Client Experience

India and her husband had been living in Washington D.C., while Jeffrey had been stationed in Afghanistan. India was unsure of moving and looking for a new home due to COVID-19 and states being under stay-at-home orders.

Our agent Eliza, was able to help India close on a house she found online in Stockbridge, Georgia. The home inspection was done remotely and the repairs were negotiated. They were ready to close on their new home, once the seller agreed to drop the price.

Jeffrey was unable to make the closing due to travel restrictions of COVID-19. In order to make the closing possible, Jeffery would need to sign and mail a power of attorney form. However, the base he was on in Afghanistan only had mail picked up every 30 days and the mail had just left the day before.

Jeffrey would have to fly to another base which required approval from three Generals, which is not an easy task. We are so thankful for Shelter Home Mortgage who was able to pull off a miracle and make all of this happen, despite a few bumps in the road! With hard work and team work, they successfully made a closing on the new home!
