Tell us about yourself, Brian! Where were you born, and what do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I was born in Decatur, GA. I have been married for almost 18 years to my beautiful wife, Victoria. Victoria and I currently live in Peachtree Corners, GA with our two children, Gavin (11) and Gracyn (9).

I have been in data and analytics my entire career, starting as a healthcare actuarial analyst. I then transitioned my data and analytics skills into the hotel industry. For the past 10 years, I have added technology as a skill and have been building software tools that have been making an impact on hotels looking to better their business decisions with data and analytics.  

Much of my free time is spent with my family and kayaking white water rivers in the southeast.  I also am a musician. I’ve been playing bass guitar for almost 30 years and played in several bands in my early 20s. I also enjoy doing a lot of home remodeling and carpentry when there’s leftover time.

When and how did you become a part of Mark Spain Real Estate?

I joined Mark Spain Real Estate in June 2022 to help grow technology as well as include more data and analytics into Mark Spain Real Estate. I’ve known Alisha Burdette for many years and she was the one who convinced me to join the awesome team here.

How long have you been involved in real estate and where? 

As an investor, I have been involved off and on for a while. But, this is my first job in the real estate industry.

I chose Mark Spain Real Estate because of the great people that I get to work alongside and the tremendous opportunities to make a difference.

What have you learned the most from working at Mark Spain Real Estate?

Getting into the data has taught me a lot about the trends of each individual market that we serve as well as the entire process from lead to closing.  I’ve learned that everyone needs to be executing their role to keep business going. We all play a part in making an impact on the company and industry.

What are your passions in life outside of work?

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, white water kayaking, music, traveling, and home remodeling/carpentry.

Who inspires you in life?

My family inspires me to be a good husband and father.  My friends at church inspire me to be kind and generous toward others.

Tell us about the friendships you’ve made at Mark Spain Real Estate.

I’ve known Alisha for quite a while and it’s great to work with her on a daily basis, but I’ve really enjoyed getting to know the whole marketing team.  I also enjoy working closely with Alexander Boza to help build new technology and functionality. I’ve also learned a lot from the leadership team here and enjoyed getting to know John, Dan, and Cindy.

What are you looking forward to this year?

This year I am looking forward to building new technology and tools to help Mark Spain Real Estate grow and make smarter business decisions.
