In Good Company: The People of MSRE- Sherron Lavender

Sherron Lavender serves as the Director of Sales for the Stockbridge MSRE team. She is a Georgia native and graduated from Austin Peay University with a bachelor’s degree in Corporate Communication & Journalism. Following graduation, Sherron worked in sales and marketing prior to starting her real estate career in property management.

In 2015, Sherron got her real estate license and in February of 2017, Sherron joined Mark Spain Real Estate. We are so lucky to have Sherron as a part of the MSRE team and are excited to highlight her as our next person of MSRE! Since then, Sherron has already helped more than 80 families sell their homes. Sherron’s fast track to success led her to be promoted to our Stockbridge Director of Sales.

Why Mark Spain Real Estate, Sherron Lavender?

I chose Mark Spain Real Estate because I was amazed at how the team was organized. I loved the idea of being a part of a company with specialized departments and team members. At the time I joined, I knew Mark Spain Real Estate had recently become an independent brokerage. I knew the success Mark had attained as an agent and was super excited to be a part of what I knew would be a successful brokerage. Getting in on the ground level, just as the expansion across Georgia was beginning proved to be a great opportunity!

What excites you most about Mark Spain Real Estate?

From the day I walked through the doors of Mark Spain Real Estate, I knew I wanted to be a part of the growth. When you walk in, you can feel the energy, motivation and ambition. It is infectious! Watching the impact this brokerage has on the real estate industry and being part of it is exciting! I love being able to impact the careers of the agents on my team and watch them grow and hit numbers they never thought possible – it’s inspiring!

What is your secret to success?

Structure, defined expectations and accountability from our leadership team has guided me to be a top producer. As the Stockbridge Director of Sales, I will look for agents who are ambitious, hungry and driven. We want individuals who are self-starters and want to be accountable to a team. I want my team to feel good when they come to the office each day, celebrate wins, work through challenges and lift each other up.

What is your favorite MSRE memory?

My favorite memory was receiving the 2017 Stockbridge MVP award. This award was voted on by peers and really meant so much that I received it! When I think about Mark Spain Real Estate, I think about the feeling of being with family. The comradery. The feeling of, “work hard, play harder.” At the end of the day, it is all about enjoying what you do, having fun doing it and appreciating who you are working with!

What are you most looking forward to in 2019?

For our Stockbridge team, I am ecstatic to work together to see all that we can accomplish! We have big goals, and I want to lead my team to be the top office in Georgia! For Mark Spain Real Estate as a whole, I am excited to see how we continue to disrupt the market and expand into other markets!

What makes the Stockbridge market special?

The market served by Stockbridge is on fire! The growth both in the real estate and job markets are booming. I have lived in this area since I was born so I have seen the expansion and market shift. To be able to watch the growth from a real estate perspective is exciting! The industry and the systems being put in place throughout the market to draw individuals to the area is unparalleled to anything we’ve seen in the past.

 

What are your passions in life outside of work?

My family!! My husband, Dean and our daughters Alexandria, Amelia and Molly are why I do what I do. We love traveling every six months to somewhere new and spoiling our fur babies, Violet and Tank. Friends are also a huge part of our lives. We love spending time at our home on Lake Weiss and watching Georgia football as a family!!

Jost Van Dyke, a small island in the British Virgin Islands.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you travel?

We want to explore Greece and the Pacific Rim!

Steak cooked rare is at the top of my list. Wings and pizza are also always a go-to!
