It has been rated as a four-star school and given an 8 out of 10 on GreatSchools.org. Many parents are very happy with sending their children to this elementary school and some even move into the district specifically for the school.
The special education program at BLES is one of the best in the area and many have posted rave reviews about this program. They work quite hard to make sure all of the students come first and get what they need to learn and move forward with their education.
The school has its own song, which was written by 5th graders in 1993 to celebrate the school’s 10th birthday. The mascot is the Berkeley Bear and the school color is Purple. BLES has a motto of “Where Kids Come First” and the school staff does everything they can to live up to that motto.
