Pope High School

Alan C. Pope High School was originally founded in 1987. This school has received the Georgia Blue Ribbon of Excellence and it did so after just two years of operation.

Over half of the students within the school participate in athletic programs and more than 90% participate in some type of extracurricular activities.

Pope High School has a very high graduation rate and about 90% of the graduates go onto either a two or four-year college. The school also leads Cobb County in Georgia High School Graduation Test scores.

Academics

The academics at Pope High School concentrate on providing students with the necessary tools to go onto college. The school has a College and Career Pathways program and provides plenty of different programs. They have a Globalization Academy, Culinary Arts Academy and more.

These academies help to provide students with the necessary tools to go on to college, along with settings a standard for community involvement. The curriculum is challenging and engaging.

Pope High School also provides plenty of AP courses and an honors program for students. The AP program is rigorous and provides college level courses for students to take.

Pope High School provides many athletic programs for students to enjoy, such as:

The school has an 18-to-1 student-to-teacher ratio and has received the Silver Medal Award from U.S. News. Around 1,800 students are enrolled at Pope High school and it’s a part of the Cobb County School District.

GreatSchools.org has rated the school as a 10 out of 10 and the community has given it a four-star rating. This is one of the top public high schools serving the Marietta, Georgia area.
