Sarah Smith Elementary School

Sarah Smith Elementary was founded in 1952 as a neighborhood school.

It has a long tradition of student success and academic excellence. The test scores at this elementary school are often at the top of the list for the state of Georgia. Sarah Smith Elementary has received the National Blue Ribbon School Awarded and the Georgia School of Excellence award.

This school provides a dual campus set up. One campus serves grades K through 2, while the other campus serves grades 3 to 5. This provides a better learning environment for all students.


The academics at Sarah Smith Elementary provide a rigorous curriculum for students. The programs adhere to the Common Core Georgia Performance Standards and allow students to grow.

There is a Challenge or Gifted Program, the ESOL Program, Program for Exceptional Children and other programs to help students get the most out of their education.
