Mark Spain Real Estate has experienced tremendous growth in our team across all the markets we serve in the second quarter. In fact, we are actively hiring at a time when many businesses have a hiring freeze or are downsizing. Our Director of Talent Acquisition, Maria Perry, speaks to 100-125 candidates a week. In total throughout May and June 2020, we hired 56 real estate professionals.
As an essential service company, we are thankful to have continued the hiring process through the recent challenging times, especially with the unemployment rate at 7.6% as of June. Mark Spain Real Estate saw a record month in March of 2020, with more homes listed than ever before! In total for both quarters, Mark Spain Real Estate listed 3,294 homes on the market.
We have seen growth in the number of listings for all of our markets, and our Alpharetta office listed over 100 homes four months in a row! In addition, listings were up by 92% in Raleigh, 105% in Charlotte, and 93% in Nashville. We are thankful to continue serving our clients by helping them reach their real estate goals.
Our market areas are also experiencing tremendous growth in closings as well! In fact, closings are up 75% in Raleigh, 61% in Charlotte, and 155% in Nashville. We are thankful to have served these families over the last six months. Delivering an unparalleled client experience is our top priority, and we cannot wait to help more families with their real estate goals this year.
Our total sales volume for all closed homes in the first half of 2020 was over $515.79 million. Mark Spain Real Estate has served the real estate industry for over 25 years. We know the market well and our agents are experienced, local, and highly trained to help you sell your home fast and for more money.
